Chelsea Joy Handler (born February 25, 1975) is an American stand-up comedian, valley girl, and actress. As of 2006, she has her own sketch comedy program, The Chelsea Handler Show, on the E! Television Network.
Biography
Early life
Handler was born in Livingston, New Jersey and has five siblings. She grew up in a Jewish neighborhood and was raised as a Reform Jew by her lapsed-Mormon mother and a Jewish father. Handler started her "career" by heckling stand-up comedians in the 1990s.
Career
Handler is a regular on the Oxygen Network series Girls Behaving Badly. She has appeared on many shows, including Weekends at the D.L., The Bernie Mac Show and The Practice. She is a regular commentator on E! as well as a correspondent on The Tonight Show. As a stand-up comedian, she has made multiple appearances across America.
She recently released My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands, her memoirs. The foreign rights have sold in over 16 countries.
