Daniel Peter Masterson (born March 13, 1976 in Albertson, New York) is an American actor from Long Island best known for his role as Steven Hyde in That '70s Show. He also starred as Justin in Cybill, Jimmy in Roseanne, and has made several guest appearances on Punk'd and MADtv. His younger brother is actor Christopher Masterson of the television series Malcolm in the Middle and the movie, Scary Movie 2.
He is a co-owner of Dolce, a restaurant he founded with That '70s Show co-stars Ashton Kutcher and Wilmer Valderrama. Masterson also frequently DJs at Los Angeles night clubs under his name, DJ Donkey Punch. Masterson also co-hosts an extremely popular radio show titled Feel My Heat, on Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles. As co-host of this show, he frequently displays a knack for a Howard Stern-esque sense of humor, as exemplified by a dialogue he once initiated concerning a canine's sex organs. He started out by musing on what a dog's vagina is officially referred to as, then continued for ten minutes longer, quizzing everyone in his studio as to what the official name for a dog's vagina could possibly be (despite the fact that everyone already knew there is no special term). He is currently dating actress Bijou Phillips.
Masterson is a member of the Church of Scientology,http://www.scientology-kills.org/celebrities/masterson_d.htm as his parents raised him in the beliefs of Scientology. In December 2005 he helped promote the gala opening of Scientology's controversial "Psychiatry: An Industry of Death" Museum, which puts forth a conspiracy theory connecting Adolf Hitler to the psychiatric profession.
Relatives
He has a maternal younger half-sister named Alanna Masterson (Reaiche) appeared in an episode of "Malcolm in the Middle" and was on Y&R as Colleen Cecile Carlton in 1994-1995. He also has a younger brother names Chris. Jordan Masterson (Reaiche) is their other maternal half-brother. Will Masterson is the youngest half-brother of Chris and Danny's father through his second marriage. Despite remarriages the family is still close. Jordan and Alanna's dad was a famous pro [Rugby League Player] back in Sydney Australia.
