Gigi Perreau (Birthname: Ghislaine Elizabeth Marie Thérèse Perreau-Saussine b. February 6, 1941 in Los Angeles, California) was a former child star.

A French-American star of the late 1940s and early 1950s was not able to increase her popularity as an adult, but has maintained on the fringe for decades. Gigi Perreau was born to a French father, who fled his native country at the onset of World War II, and an American mother. Her beginnings started way back to the age of two and a half when her mother was approached by a talent agent who represented child actors and who took an initial interest in her brother, Gerald Perreau. But Gigi grabbed a little attention of her own. Producer/director 'Mervyn Le Roy' discovered little Gigi could speak French as well as English at such a precious age and then he cast her as Greer Garson's daughter in Madame Curie in 1943.

MGM then signed the young Gigi up and she spent several years there before Universal-International picked up her option. As becoming a top juvenile player, Perreau received an award from the Screen Children's Guild while appeared in top quality films, light-hearted and tear-stained, including Mr. Skellington as the young version of Betty Davis' character, My Foolish Heart, costarring Susan Howard, and Has Anyone Seen My Gal? with Rock Hudson. But from the mid 1950s, and after scores of roles on television shows, things started to wind down for the former pig-tailed child star as she tried to adjust through her awkward teen years.

Films such as The Cool and the Crazy, Girls' Town and Hell On Wheels pretty much tells the story. At the age of twenty, she married and had two children, a son and daughter. A second marriage produced another boy and girl. Rarely seen on film or television since the late 1960s, Perreau has continued on as a stage director and college prep drama teacher. Brother Gerald (a.k.a. Peter Miles) equipped himself quite well as a child actor after performing in The Red Pony, The Good Humor Man and Quo Vadis. Gigi appeared with him in the movies Enchantment and Roseanna McCoy, and as well as playing his sister on The Betty Hutton Show. Gigi's two younger sisters, Janine Perreau and Lauren Perreau, also dabbled in film and television as youngsters, but aren’t in the same level as their brother or sister.
