Iain Softley is an English film director. He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge. His movies include the Beatles film Backbeat (1994), Hackers (1995), Wings of the Dove (1997), K-PAX (2001), and The Skeleton Key (2005). Softley will next direct Inkheart (2007), which is based on the book of the same name. He also directed Toni Braxton's music video "How Could An Angel Break My Heart". The book spent 19 weeks on the New York Times Children's bestseller list.
