Jenna Lee Dewan (born December 3, 1980, in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American actress. She starred as the title character in the 2005 horror film Tamara. She played an unpopular high school student, who is picked on by classmates, dies, is buried by her classmates, and comes back to seek revenge. Other films that Dewan has appeared in include Waterborne (2005), Take the Lead, Step Up, and The Grudge 2 (all released in 2006).

Prior to starring in film, she was a dancer, working for various famous performers, in live performances, and in videos. She danced for Justin Timberlake, 'N Sync, Sean Combs, Ricky Martin, Billy Crawford, and Janet Jackson.

Dewan is of half Lebanese ancestry.[1]

She was featured (along with co-star Dante Basco) on the official movie poster for the movie Take the Lead.

Personal life

As of 2005, Dewan is dating her Step Up co-star Channing Tatum. Hollywood columnist Janet Charlton says Dewan admitted they were a couple. They have been dating since they finished filming Step Up.[2]
