Oliver James Platt (born January 12, 1960 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada) is a film and television actor.
A son of Nicholas Platt, a career American diplomat, and his wife, the former Sheila Maynard, as well as a grandson of American architect Geoffrey Platt, he is a distant cousin of Diana, Princess of Wales, through their shared descent from the American heiress Frances Work.
From 2004 to 2006 Platt starred as lawyer Russell Tupper in Huff, for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
He also played Oliver Babish, White House Counsel, on the TV show The West Wing.
Platt graduated from Tufts University. In 1993, he married Camilla Campbell, and they have three children, Lili, George, and Claire.
He also performed the voice of Luther in EA Game's second installment of the SSX snowboarding games.
