Omarion (born Omari Ishmael Grandberry on November 12, 1984 in Inglewood, California) is an American R&B singer, actor, and the former lead singer of boy band B2K.
Music career
In 2000, Omarion was the leading member of the boy R&B group B2K. They had a few hit records in their brief time together, namely "Bump, Bump, Bump" which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and became the group's first and only #1. They achieved a gold and platinum album while together and eventually called it quits in January of 2005.
In 2005, Omarion embarked on a solo career and released his debut album O. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and eventually went Gold. The singles released from the album were the moderately successful "O", "Touch", and "I'm Tryna" (which failed to chart within the Billboard Hot 100).
He was also featured on Bow Wow's hit song "Let Me Hold You".
On December 26, 2006, Omarion will release his sophomore album entitled 21. The first single was "Entourage", which didn't perform as well as expected (number seventy-eight on the Hot 100). The new single "Ice Box", which was produced by Timbaland, is currently gaining significant radio airplay.

London Bombings Controversy
Omarion was in London at the time of the July 7th tube bombings. Whilst he was not near any of the stations nor did he travel on the London Underground during his stay; a press release was released on his behalf asking for people to pray for his safe return to the USA. This has given rise to many online communities (such as Fark) "praying for Omarion" whenever there is a disaster or terrorist attack.
