Ryan Rodney Reynolds (born October 23 1976 in Vancouver, British Columbia), is a Canadian actor.
Biography
Early life
His father Jim was a Vancouver food wholesaler and his mother Tammy Reynolds a salesperson. He is the youngest of four brothers; one of them currently employed as a police officer. His father was also in the police force for a short time. Reynolds graduated from Kitsilano Secondary School in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1994.
Career
Ryan is well known for his starring roles in the National Lampoon, movie Van Wilder and the American television series Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place playing medical student Michael "Berg" Bergen. He also cameoed in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle as a nurse, appeared in The In-Laws with Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks, and in 2003, the Canadian production Foolproof. In 2004, he co-starred in the action/horror film Blade: Trinity as Hannibal King, and in 2005 he played a waiter named Monty in Waiting.... He has also appeared in an episode of the television series Scrubs, where he played Spence, a college friend of J.D. and Turk.
Although he has performed primarily in comedies, Reynolds played the dark character George Lutz in the remake of the horror movie, The Amityville Horror. Also, Reynolds while still lending his comedic sensibility, underwent intense physical training to play an action role as the character of Hannibal King in the film Blade: Trinity, which also starred Wesley Snipes and Jessica Biel.
In a March 2005 interview, Reynolds spoke of his interest and involvement in a possible film adaptation of Deadpool (comics) with screenwriter David Goyer.[1] Growing fan interest and having Avi Arad's son—a hardcore Deadpool fan—behind to project, increases the prospects of the film being made.
Personal life
Since 2002, Reynolds has been romantically linked to singer, and fellow Canadian, Alanis Morissette, becoming engaged in 2004. Her song "Everything," is said to be about him. Reynolds says his attraction to Morissette is her laid back attitude, giving the example that she—unlike women he has dated before—does not require two hours to get ready to grab a coffee. The couple live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and own a penthouse suite in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Although reported in a 7 June 2006 article in People that the couple has split, neither has confirmed.[2] Other reports of Reynolds and Morissette being spotted holding hands in Los Angeles further calls the accuracy of the People article into question.[3] In a recent TV Guide interview, Morissette said that she has been with Ryan for four years, no mention of a split.[4]
Prior to Morissette, Reynolds dated actress Kristen Johnston and singer Michelle Morris.
Reynolds is a Green Bay Packers fan, and loves motorcycles, owning two; a customised 2005 Harley-Davidson Springer Softail, and 2005 Confederate Hellcat.[5]
