Stephen Weaver Collins (born October 1, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa) is an American actor. He is probably best known for his role as the Reverend Eric Camden on the television series 7th Heaven, though he also notably portrayed Captain/Commander Willard Decker in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Rev. Camden's wife, Annie, is played by fellow Star Trek alum Catherine Hicks (who played Dr. Gillian Taylor in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home).
He was raised in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. At Amherst College he graduated cum laude. He is also the author of two novels: Eye Contact (1994) and Double Exposure (1998).
Collins is married to actress Faye Grant. He is a practicing Anglican and is also a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation. [1] [2]

- He played bass guitar and rhythm guitar in a number of rock and roll bands at Amherst College, including Tambourine Charlie & The Four Flat Tires, The Naugahyde Revolution, The Flower & Vegetable Show, (at Hastings High) The Housemen, The Mustangs, The Trolls.
- Stephen Collins along with Beverly Mitchell are the only cast members to be in every episode of 7th Heaven.
