, born July 27, 1972 in Tokyo is a Japanese actress and seiyū with strong ties to theatre. She is a member of the Ein Theatrical Company, and studied acting at the Aoyama Gakuin University. She is usually either on-stage or doing voice-overs, but her big screen debut was as Kayako Saeki the vengeful ghost in the short movie Katasumi, part of the Gakkou no kaidan G collection, in the year 1998. She reprised this role in every following installment of the Ju-on series. This series was so surprisingly successful that it gained an American remake named The Grudge. The American film The Grudge is in fact the second remake of the film Ju-on. Ju-on was originally produced as a straight to home video film, much in the way that Disney releases some movies, a sequel was also produced in the same manner, in Japan, these releases are known as V-Cinema. After that, the same director, Takashi Shimizu, went back and remade the original Ju-on for a broader theatrical release, as well as Ju-on 2. He even more bizarely went on to produce both American remakes of both films as The Grudge and The Grudge 2. Many fans see the original television Ju-on as the "best" of the six films, though it has never been given a true American release. Takako Fuji has also stated that she is also a bit tired of her role as Kayako Saeki, since she had played the same role for a quite a few years now. Takako Fuji admitted that sometimes it's hard for her to keep herself motivated, since she has played the role over 6 times. During an interview the actress explained how the set was much different from the set back at home. She stated that in the American set they had more to work with, unlike in the Japanese set.

Her specialty is dancing, modern ballet, and speaking English. She is also a well-trained contortionist , which assisted in her acting in Ju-on. She has been married once, to co-member of the Ein Theatrical Group Watanabe Joji, from January of 2000 until October of 2005.

She was last seen in 2006 movie The iDol.
