Tammy Lauren, born Tammy Lauren Vasquez (November 10, 1968 in San Diego, California) is an American actress who has appeared in film and television. Her most famous movie role was as the lead in Wishmaster, portraying Alexandra Amberson, a young woman who accidentally awakens the Djinn, a powerful spirit more commonly known as a genie. Wishmaster is currently the only feature film in which she has appeared in a leading role. Lauren also appeared in Mad City with Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta, among several other feature roles. She had a starring role in Martial Law alongside Sammo Hung.
Among television fans, Lauren is best known for her role as Ginger Szabo on Homefront, a series set in post-WWII Ohio. She has made many television appearances including recurring roles in Home Improvement; Wanda at Large (she played Wanda's sister in-law); and Walker, Texas Ranger. Her first acting role was as Hilary on the short-lived television show Angie. She holds a black belt in Shotokan Karate. On October 30, 2006, Lauren will join the cast of the CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless in the role of Maggie Sullivan.
