Thelma Schoonmaker (born January 3, 1940) is an Academy Award-winning film editor.
She has received five nominations for an Academy Award, and has won twice (for editing on Raging Bull and The Aviator). She is a close collaborator with Martin Scorsese, and her work can be seen in Woodstock, Goodfellas, and Cape Fear (1991 version) and many other Scorsese films.
She was married to Michael Powell from May 19, 1984 until his death in 1990.
