The Best/Worst Genres of 2000

Here we take a look at the best movies in each genre. As you can see from looking at a few of the sections, there are movies that belong to one or more categories. Take Mission Impossible 2, for example. It certainly is an action movie, but there's also a strong romantic story to go along with the explosions and car chases. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is another one that appears in several genres. For these movies, it's hard to put them in only one genre and ignore the other ones.

By looking at the list, we can see there are more rotten movies than fresh…but we know that already. What's interesting is that the movies in the animation genre have the highest average rating of the bunch with 65%, followed by kids/family (55%), and then by dramas (53%). It's not surprising that the horror/suspense category has the lowest average rating at 29%, with the likes of Lost Souls and Urban Legends: The Final Cut in its tally.

Take a look at the rest of the genres and see how they fare.
