There has been no greater example of a father's outsized love for his children in recent memory than Taken, which was likely initially pitched as "Liam Neeson stabbing, shooting, and choking foreigners for 90 minutes while searching for his daughter." The movie is full of exemplary daddy-daughter advice (who didn't get charged up during the scene where Neeson frankly tells his daughter her abduction is inevitable?), and punchy speeches: "I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." Now that's tough love.
