What you'll need:

• Dark olive t-shirt (preferably V-neck)
• Bathrobe, hanging open
• Shorts
• Flip-flops
• Shaggy/unkempt hair
• Optional: Bowling ball or White Russian

If your lifestyle even remotely resembles that of Jeffrey Lebowski, or “The Dude,” then you shouldn't have any problems putting together a worthy Dude costume from your own wardrobe. First off, everything he wears is colored in dingy earth tones; as long as you've got all the basic elements, you'll still be recognizable as the beloved slacker extraordinaire. One place where you have some freedom is in your choice of outerwear. Out-and-about Dude typically dons a tan hoodie, open in front, but lounge-at-home Dude sports a baggy bathrobe of the same shade, also open in front. Lastly, if you haven't begun growing out your beard yet, we would suggest jumping on that task, like, right away, man.
