Chris Cooper Joins the Cast of Jarhead
Chris Cooper ("Seabiscuit"
has joined the cast of "Jarhead," Variety reports. He will play the commander of an elite Marine sniper unit serving in Iraq during the first Gulf War. The cast also includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Jamie Foxx, Peter Sarsgaard, and Lucas Black. Sam Mendes directs from a script based on the memoirs of Gulf War veteran Anthony Swofford. The movie is set for a fall 2005 release.

on Dec 17 2004 07:48 AM [b]Hmmmm...[/b] I've read the book and it's excellent. But I'm a little concerned about this "elite sniper unit" stuff. I hope they aren't going to try to trun this into "Black Hawk Down 2" with studly guys doing heroic stuff. That is so totally NOT what the book is about. (Reply to this) |
