Vincenzo Natali's CUBE was a surprise cult hit in 1998, and in 2003 he reprised similar themes in his movie NOTHING. Dave (David Hewlett) and Andrew (Andrew Miller) are two guys who find themselves at odds with the world; unable to get along with anyone but each other, they find that their fortunes take a sudden upswing when they are given the power to make things disappear. Since they dislike absolutely everyone and everything, they conspire to make the world around them vanish into thin air. Director Natali does a wonderful job creating a world with nothing in it for Dave and Andrew to romp around in, and the film evokes plenty of laughs as the beleaguered twosome are given everything they ever wanted and then can't decide if it's really what they want. NOTHING contains hints of Terry Gilliam's delirious BRAZIL, but it's a startlingly original vision that Natali creates, and one that looks visually impressive despite the film's meagre budget. [More]

Reviews for Nothing
With just two actors (and a turtle named Stan) and a very simple premise, Nothing couldn’t be better.
