Ed Burns & Shannyn Sossamon in J-Horror Remake "One Missed Call"

Takashi Miike's "One Missed Call" is just about ready for its own remake treatment. WB just signed Edward Burns and Shannyn Sossamon to star in the J-horror re-do, this one about a bunch of deadly cell-phone callls that are tormenting a group of young friends.

From Variety: "Ed Burns and Shannyn Sossamon have signed on to star in "One Missed Call" for Alcon Entertainment, Intermedia and Kadokawa Pictures USA. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing.

Eric Valette is directing the English-language remake of a Japanese supernatural horror hit. Story revolves around a college student (Sossamon) whose friends begin receiving cell phone messages from the future in which they hear themselves being murdered. When she receives her own death message, the coed has three days to change her fate. Burns plays a detective."

The flick's already begun shooting in Atlanta, and they're working from a screenplay by Andrew Klavan. Click here for the rest of the details.

I saw a dvd in Walmart, it was called "One Missed Call 2" and it looked like a B-rated movie with a bunch of no-name teens. I really liked Edward Burns, but I don't know about this movie.

I hope it's good, I'm not a big fan of the J-horror remakes. But I like Burns, and I'm a huge Shannyn Sossamon fan, she's beautiful and talented.
