Weaver Joining Cameron's "Avatar"?
by Jeff Giles | January 19, 2007

Sigourney Weaver is having a busy year: Not only is her voice in theaters now, as the wicked stepmother in "Happily N'Ever After," but she'll also be seen in the upcoming films "The Girl in the Park" and "Vantage Point" ... and now JoBlo.com is reporting that a scooper from Ain't it Cool News has learned that Weaver will soon be reteaming with her "Aliens" director, James Cameron, in a big-budget sci-fi film.

Weaver behaving badly in "Happily N'Ever After" as the wicked stepmother.

Since Weaver's comments -- made on a French talk show -- were rather vague, there's some speculation as to which James Cameron big-budget sci-fi film she was referring to: The director has two of them, "Battle Angel" and "Avatar," in the pipeline. However, of the two, "Avatar" is the only one in active development.

Due out in the summer of 2009 from 20th Century Fox, "Avatar" deals with an interplanetary war 200 years in the future, and is projected to have a $190 million budget.
