on Feb 29 2008 01:24 PM Come on guys, Mike Myers' character looks pretty hilarious in that one. And I haven't watched the Step Brothers one yet, but I don't hold out much hope for it. John C. Reilly doesn't impress me comedically. And Will Ferrell movies are usually misses, IMO. But I'll check it out tonight. (Reply to this) |

on Feb 29 2008 02:47 PM In reply to this comment (#1608809) As a comic book and movie fan I don't think the Batman Begins model is the best to follow for most comic-based films. Begins was easy to do that way because Batman is a dark, gritty, street-level hero. Let's not forget the original Superman and the first two Spiderman films were great because they put you in to the world of the charaters. That said I am really looking forward to Ironman! on Feb 29 2008 03:37 PM Iron Man's fighting Man Machine already? Nice, it's rentin' time! But why isn't Stark using his hand lasers? Is Hollywood afraid of lasers? (Reply to this) |

![]() on Feb 29 2008 04:22 PM I hope Step Brothers and The Love Guru are good because of Justin Timberlake and John C. Reilly. John C. Reilly needs to reestablish himself as a safe bet for a leading role after Walk Hard bombed so unfortunately, and I just like Justin Timberlake and hope his acting career is a success. Plus the concepts seem funny enough. I just hope the execution doesn't ruin them. Iron Man...Eh. I might see it, I might not. At this point, it doesn't seem especially interesting, and I'm not as much a fan of comic books and their adaptations as...well, everybody. If it gets good reviews, I'll see in theaters/Netflix it. If not, I'll just skip over it. (Reply to this) |

on Feb 29 2008 06:12 PM Iron Man looks like it is stepping up to be Marvel's next franchise series. It looks good enough for a 2 and 3 to easily follow and not have the movie-going public cry "Make it stop, but I'm still going to go see them!" Step Brothers looks like the generic Will Ferrell movie, but who says that's a bad thing? His movies always have their fair share of laughs, even if I don't like to admit that I find them funny. Love Guru...well, on the bright side, at least Mike Myers is starring in some live action for a change. It doesn't look great, but it could jump-start his career from only landing roles in sequels to his previous successes. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Feb 29 2008 06:14 PM IRON MAN and STEP- BROTHERS look pretty goo, but Mike Myers can do better. (Reply to this) |

on Feb 29 2008 06:52 PM dude, iron made looks retarted, even more lame jokes and pseudo hipness than 'ghost rider', wtf is with all the hype and commotion? (Reply to this) |

on Feb 29 2008 07:15 PM Biji you are slow. Iron Man looks awesome, so much better than Dark Knight, and whoever said that it is antiIslamic and had a ****ty soundtrack needs to wake up and learn about music and the real world. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Feb 29 2008 07:43 PM I would hardly consider Pearl Jam good music. Also Ajmk123 whats with the psersonal attacks just cause someone doesn't think another generic superhero movie doesn't look good doesnt mean they're "slow." But then again I'm guessing your between the ages of 11-15 so I wont hold it against you. (Reply to this) |

on Feb 29 2008 09:23 PM The Love Guru looks offensive and unfunny, which is sad because I like Mike Myers a lot. Step Brothers actually looks a lot better than anything Ferrell has done in a long time...like, since Anchorman, which makes perfect sense when you see the director. Iron Man continues to look amazing...and expensive. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Feb 29 2008 11:28 PM I just saw the new trailer and good god... it's going to be one hell of aN AWESOME MOVIE!!!!! and BluMizu, what's your problem with downey? he's absolutely perfect to play the invincible shellhead and bravo to Uradik Smoke for commenting accurately, how tony isn't supposed to be likeable all the time, anyways. Seriously he's always been sora of jerk at times and right now he's one of the most hated characters in comics because of his involvement on the probable wrong side in the recent event, civil war and how is somewhat responsible for a certain star spangled avenger murder (r.i.p. cap). Still, that's how awesome this movie looks, that i am still willing to see a movie based on Tony Stark and it's mainly due to Downey puting what seems alltime imprint on the character!!!! (Reply to this) |
![]() on Feb 29 2008 11:33 PM Also, i have some recent huge news, folks if anyone wants to hear? It involves the Robert "Iron man" Downey Jr.. well here it is- I hear he's going to star as tony stark in the incredible hulk movie as well!! Yes, you read it right... we might have the first ever Cross-over movie event with iron man, or at least tony, in the same movie with the incredible, and hopefully improved, Hulk!!!! Hope it's true and i am so pumped up for this year in summer movies!! (Reply to this) |
![]() on Feb 29 2008 11:37 PM Loving the Iron Man trailer. And the fact that the main character isn't some (Reply to this) |
![]() on Mar 01 2008 12:47 AM "The Love Guru" looks like baked *****. Austin Powers was a one-joke character, magnificently exploited for every possible gag. This Pitka guy is a no-joke character, with confusing callbacks to Powers and diminishing returns. The problem with Ferrell's post-"Anchorman" comedies is their reliance on familiar tropes and character arcs. "Anchorman" brilliantly eschewed all of that. The joke wasn't that Ron Burgundy had an ego far too large for his limited intelligence and looks, but that the movie pretended to be about a story and a character when really it was an extended skit - and it pretended hilariously. The same cannot be said for his sports movies, which just naturally come with an arc as any sports movie does, and so they fail at molding Ferrell's anarchic, bizarre idiot comedy into something commercial and pat. So "Step Brothers" could, in fact, be something special, although this trailer isn't the hottest it could be. I haven't really been following "Iron Man" or caring. I'll just settle for seeing it, I guess. (Reply to this) |
