Joshua Jackson Wouldn't Mind Starring in Spider-Man 4
by Jeff Giles | March 13, 2008
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

The news might come a decade too late for the teenage girls who swooned over him when Dawson's Creek was on the air, but Joshua Jackson is totally willing to wear spandex and/or a cape. Back to Article

I like josh and everything, but tobey has to sign on for this movie, i'm tired of sequel's with different people.

I'm not a big fan of Tobey either, but I agree that it gets tiring when sequels are made with different people. It's rarely an improvement.

i think it would be a poor choice to get kid from the Skulls and the thought of him as bruce wayne/batman is just friggin painful.

oh holy sh3t, is he serious?????? i can't IMAGINE Begins without my boy Bale. wow...that is one heck of a "what if...". wow...thank you Nolan...

i've always thought sequels without the same cast just isn't the same. as long as they have a good idea and it works...just keep Tobey. if he's unwilling...then restart the franchise in my opinion. drop everybody.

What about Jake Gyllenhaal, if Tobey doesn't sign on? I heard he was up for the role originally, and he does have the acting chops. Anyway, I too, hope Tobey signs on. I would like to see this in a completely different setting though. Take it to Florida, on a post-graduate research experiment w/ Dr. Connor, have Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker go (leave Mary Jane out of this one). Then bring the Lizard out, w/ maybe Kraven the hunter as a secondary baddie. How will Spiderman do w/o many buildings to use? I think this could be interesting, takes it in a new direction (since first trilogy is tied up).

Joshua Jackson would be a terrible choice for either role. The last movie I saw him in was Bobby & he was terrible in that as well.

I can't see anyone but Tobey in the Spidey suit. If they flush the franchise and start over (a la Hulk) based on SM3's lukewarm reception among fans, yet ginormous worldwide success, then everyone involved needs a slap upside the head.

i agree with shatter. i would like to see gyllenhaal in the suit if tobey opts out. but, as badly as the 3rd one sucked, that may knock some sense into the producers/directors and the fourth one would return to the glory of the second. but spidey has to stay in NYC. oh yeah, and joshua jackson is good where he belongs: primetime soaps.

Don't think he has the acting range to go nerd with the subtlety you need for Peter Parker and he would have been atrocious in Begins, although seeing Pacey and Joey in Batman might have had a second of surreal value. Could've gotten Vander Beek to play the Rutger Hauer role.

Although I think JJ looks more like the traditional comic book Peter Parker, he needs to build up more of a rep in Hollywood to play the Spidey role. Dawsons Creek won't cut it dude. And thats the way the cookie crumbles. I'm out peace MuthaFas

Joshua Jackson wouldn't mind starring in ANY film... anywhere... that ANYBODY is making.

He just needs work. I swear I saw him by the freeway off-ramp selling oranges out of the back of a 1984 Toyota pickup truck.

He'll go to India and sing and dance in a Bollywood musical if they'll promise him tandoori everyday.

Where anywhere in this article does it say that he even has the slightest bit of realistic chance of playing Spider-man?

I could say that I wouldn't mind sleeping with Jessica Alba but you don't see RT putting up any articles about it.

No one talks about the best choice to play Spidey in part IV: Ashton Kutcher. He's about the right age, the story could take place a few years after part III, and he can handle the stunts without whining like Maguire. Not to mention he doesn't look emo like Toby.

I agree with Gimy. Either you have the same cast or drop everybody.

About Shutter, the original Thai film, is arguably the best terror film I've ever saw. I went to see it twice at the movies, and then bought it on DVD and have seen it like 5 times more.

I hope they actually pull it off and make a great remake, rather then just lament them destroying another great movie.

Maybe if he got Tobey's personal trainer and got ripped like Tobey did for Spider-Man he could play Hawkeye or Wonder Man in the Avengers movie or Blue Beetle if they every made that one (especially with Beetle being the inspiration for Nite Owl in Watchmen coming up).

i wish i was standing right in front of you so i can smack you right in the ****ing mouth! spider-man 3 sucked i'll give you that, but spider-man the character is one of the greatest characters of all time and the first two movies were good, but still have yet to reach the full potential this character can have on screen. why should they make 18,000 batman, james bond, and indiana jones movies yet not make another spider-man movie, just because one movie sucked. by that logic we would have never gotten batman begins, because all 4 batman movies prior sucked and batman and robin sucked a HELL of a lot worse then spider-man 3 sucked.
