All-New (and Creepy) Omen Trailer Has Been Unearthed
JoBlo is kind enough to point us towards an all-new trailer for Fox's impending Omen remake. Click here to visit a slow-loading Russian website that has the trailer we'll all get to see in a few days on Apple QT.
As we all know by now, The Omen (2006) is a remake of The Omen (1976), and is directed by Flight of the Phoenix helmer John Moore, scripted by first-timer Dan McDermott, and starring Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles, David Thewlis, and Mia Farrow.

And yes, it opens on 6/6/06. Nifty.

![]() on Apr 15 2006 12:15 AM They've already started playing a trailer like this one during Scary Movie 4. I hope this is better than the original, I'm a horror fan and that movie was completely boring. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 15 2006 12:43 AM hmmm I agree with jaayfarley... Flight of the phoenix was garbage plus, why remake an already fantastic movie? I really liked the original. I think it is one of the prototypes for 'good horror', not to mention the fabulous acting of Gregory Peck. if they turn it into a jumpy 'boo you're scared' kind of movie then i'll be really disappointed (Reply to this) |

on Apr 15 2006 02:55 AM Seems kinda' appropriate that a preview of The Omen's remake would be on the same show as Scary Movie 4. The Omen was a classic Hitchcock style horror movie that didn’t need gore or special effects to creep you that came out shortly after The Exorcist. My bet is that the remake will change all that. on Apr 15 2006 08:18 AM I don't know. Based on that trailer, it looks like they're sticking pretty close to the tone and style of the original, so I'll give it a chance. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 15 2006 01:04 PM In reply to this comment (#833769) You are kidding right? You must have never seen the original Omen with Gregory Peck and Lee Remick. That film was a classic. It is going to be very tough to top it. You better re-watch it. You must be thinking of another film. Either that or your not real bright. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 15 2006 08:49 PM It looks quite good. Looking forward to it, to be honest. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 16 2006 11:10 AM The original movie is a true "horror" classic, there's no way in hell this new omen will be superior to the original, no remakes of classic horror movies ever are. The Excorcist prequel anyone? (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 16 2006 11:29 AM I thought the trailer in Scary Movie 4 looked ridiculous and stupid. I fucking hate little creepy kids in movies. Darkness Falls, The Ring, The Ring 2, Dark Water, They, Hide and Seek, all of these SHITTY movies had little kids and they're NOT CREEPY! THEY'RE CHILDREN! What I never understood... is why you don't hold that little freak down and beat him til he's dead?! (Reply to this) |

on Apr 16 2006 03:59 PM Dude, this isnt your normal pawn of a child like in other movies such a the ring. This is the main character. It's what the movie centers around. The Orginal was a fantastic horror classic that will go down as one of the best horror movies of all time. Im not expecting this to be superior to the orginal, but im just hoping to do the orginal some justice, and from the trailer, it looks like it has the potential to do so. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 16 2006 07:29 PM the original was pretty good but far from great, nowhere near the quality of horror masterpieces like the shinning or the exorcist (Reply to this) |

on Apr 17 2006 08:23 AM It better be good I really don't think they can successfully remake the 70's horror films. There is way too much to live up too. The original was an outstanding suspenseful thriller. They got it right. However, the kid in the trailer doesn't look as menacing as the kid in the 1978 version. Isn't he that kid from Scary Movie 3? Although I think that Liev Shrieber will do a good job as Robert Thorn. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 17 2006 12:42 PM I have to disagree with one remake that I felt surpassed the original: Dawn of the Dead. Now, I give props to Romero, but this movie was one of the few moments I was thankful for today's special effects. But The Omen, I have to agree, IS A HORROR CLASSIC. It doesn't give you the cheap scare that most horror films today horrendously provide. The original is far more horrific than most movies out there today: it's the psychological mind-freak that makes it so memorable. It'll be hard to top it the original, but I'll definitely give it a go. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 17 2006 12:53 PM That kid doesn't look evil. More like a brat. (Reply to this) |
|
on Apr 17 2006 01:58 PM Well, Harvey Stephens (the kid in the original) didn't look particularly evil until his smile at the end. Hell, he didn't even do anything evil. I think this kid looks fine for the part. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 17 2006 05:34 PM umm flight of the pheonix director?? the signs are not good I watched the special features on F. o. t. P. (the only person I know who did) and the director came across like a total Asshole. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 19 2006 06:35 PM I saw only a little bit of the original, and i was creeped out at the end, when the kid smiled (Reply to this) |
