Faked (?) "I Am Legend" Posters Hit the Wire
by Scott Weinberg | November 30, 2006
Discuss Article
Those who are breathlessly anticipating the new-fangled Will Smith rendition of Richard Matheson's "I Am Legend" should be pretty psyched for about 8 seconds: A brand-new pair of one-sheets have made the scene.

MoviesOnline.ca is the spot that got the posters first. Check 'em out here and here.

Scheduled for release in November of next year, Francis Lawrence's "I Am Legend" will star Will Smith, Gabrielle Union, and Salli Richardson.

Previous versions of the story include "The Last Man on Earth" and "The Omega Man."

UPDATE: We've been informed by folks at Slashfilm that these are fan-generated posters, and NOT the official one-sheets.

Not too shabby really. If you haven't seen Vincent Price in The Last Man on Earth, you should. It is the oldest version of this story. It is pretty good. I am going to watch the Omega Man, too before I see this.

Lame Posters in my opinion. Would have expected a little more than Will and a car.

Expected more from the posters, give us a real post apocalyptic wasteland. At least it's not a remake, oh yeah, it is.

Those can't possibly be real! They look like amateur photoshop garbage, especially the second one.

Those do look like photoshops. I made a poster for Terminator 3 once that turned out looking just like those.

i highly doubt these are real... both use the same bad picture of smith, and the backgrounds are generic with lame coloring. Also the "NOVEMBER" is too low on the poster, it would be cut off if put in a poster case (I work at a theater)

Thank you! I've been saying that these were fake (obviously fake) since they've surfaced. The font is a generic elongated take from the Will Smith's name on the I, ROBOT poster. And why the hell would a movie about the last man in a world of vampires make us focus so much on an effing car not even angled right so Will looks like he's in the same shot?. Okay I'm hungry.

Spiderwebs?
Whats up with the spiderwebs on his knees? Both knees have them. And they really do look fake. the face that Willy is giving is quite hilarious. I think somebody should photoshop that with him on the toliet. Because it looks like he's trying to drop a brick.

I'd just like to ask everyone who's complaining that this is "Photoshopped" what they think professionals use to make posters?

Ummm... whoopee?

Very lame posters, Photoshopped or not. It's a blurry picture of (presumably) Will Smith on a street and in front of a car. These could conceivably be advertising any future Smith movie. Nothing special about them whatsoever. If they were intended to instill any feelings of excited anticipation about the movie, they fail completely.

HAHAHAHAHAHA the haters were right for once, completely fake. I do agree tho, they did kinda look too boring to be professional. No "bang" whatsoever.

Yeah, there's no way this would be an official one sheet. But the guy who created them is probably sitting in his chair with his hands patting his own back, because he foole RT, but not it's readers.

Shelby GT 500's have everything to do with Vampire
Because if I'm hunting some Vampires. The Car I would want to drive would be the Shelby GT 500. Because the Vamps would know where I am. Vampires know style. And thats gonna give Willy style.

The book was very cool and it was written in the fifties!
In the book he drives a Willies jeep because he cant afford for it to brake down or he gets stuck in the middle of nowhere with a city full of vampires!
If I was Will I'd trade that American trash bag of an excuse for a half assed sports car in.
Maybe for something with more modern suspension, like a Hyundai or a Daewoo?
