Peter sets... Belgian embassy official Carl Pimmler persuades Peter Kernan, an American relief worker stationed in Thailand, to deliver much-needed medicine across the Cambodian border to a warlord. Peter sets out with his old friend Khoy Thoun, a Cambodian refugee whose family was killed by the Khmer Rouge, and Pimmler's wife Johanna, a French Red Cross worker who also has romantic feelings for Peter. Together, they try to have a positive impact on this chaotic country. Peter and his comrades cleverly thwart the corrupt political forces and the Khmer Rouge, contributing in their own small way to the future of present-day Cambodia. [More]
