Kristin Kreuk Is a Street Fighter
Smallville actress to wear white lace-up boots, fight for justice.

Andrzej Bartkowiak, director of Hyde Park's new Street Fighter movie, has found his Chun-Li.

ComingSoon reports that Smallville star Kristin Kreuk has signed on to star in Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li. Unlike the long-running Capcom videogame's first live-action trip to the screen, this Street Fighter will not feature a beret-wearing Jean-Claude Van Damme; rather, it's "focused on female fighter Chun-Li and her journey for justice."

Yatta!

The new Street Fighter, which Bartkowiak will direct from Justin Marks' script, begins filming next March in Thailand.

Sadly I think that this movie will suck more than the first one....and that movie makes GIGLI look like citizen Kane....

it will suck, but you couldn't have picked a hotter Chun Li.

Well, maybe Kelly Hu would have been more appropriate, with her skill(z). The episode of Smallville where Lana was in China recovering some artifact or whatever, did show off Kreuk's potential as a wire Kung Fu fighter, I guess.

Kreuk should practice all her kill moves on her agent who told her this was a good career choice.

Will someone please tell me under what 'new math' anyone thinks re-doing a [suck-a#s] movie based upon a videogame that was maximally popular fifteen years ago, is a GOOD fiscal idea? Or ANY kind of good idea, for that matter? Are these guys competing for 'Lord of the Suck' with the makers of the new JLA movie?

Honest, I'm not just being rhetorical. Can anyone rationalize this?

Someone was apparently a damned good salesperson when it came time to pitch this movie to the bigwigs.

Wasn't she in House of the Dead? If she didn't kill her agent then, she certainly won't do it now.

And why is her involvement in anything noteworthy?

Whoops, my mistake. I think it was the chick that plays Lois that was in House of the Dead.

Still, if the guy that plays Superman isn't really a star outside of the show, I don't think anyone else popping up in anything, particularly a re-make of a movie that was quite terrible (It killed Raul Julia y'know), is anything to get worked up about.

No one is surprised by this? Hollywood making a movie from another bad movie? Don't you all know that the well Hollywood keeps going to NEVER runs dry. Although Kristin is very beautiful, lets just realize that they are relaunching this because Chun-Li is now the most popular character of the series. I've always like Rayden....oh wait wring series. I get those confused :-)

tom welling appeared in the two "cheaper by the dozen" films although his only big starring role was the only good part of the wretched "fog" remake from 2005. yes smallville's lois lane better known as erica durance was featured in the horrid "house of the dead" and for anyone interested she was nude in that movie. eric was also recently in "butterfly effect 2." like that previously mentioned movie, "street fighter" will be straight to dvd i bet. why is all this noteworthy news? because kristin is hot and smallville is way cool duh!

the biggest drag of this is I have 20 great movie ideas and don't know how to get them to the right ears. the fact they will make this makes me very sad.

Lord of the suck, that was funny

I would have picked Maggie Q. For two people who are planning on leaving Smallville after this season Kreuk (Lana) and Rosenbaum (Lex) are sure doing craptastic movies...seems to me you ride the easy money wagon and stay on the Smallville gravy train until its over.
