Synopsis: In this classic Jerry Lewis comedy, Lewis plays Norman Phiffier, a rather awkward young man who doesn't have much money, but has inspired love in a beautiful young girl named Barbara (St. John).... When Barbara tells her mother (Moorehead) that she intends to marry Norman, her mother instantly conceives a plan to stop the marriage; she offers Norman a job in the family department store and gives him difficult and degrading tasks, hoping to humiliate him in front of Barbara.
