Eternal themes of youth, power, greed and deceit play up in this story of a confused and unsure Danish Prince who is surprised one night by the ghost of his recently deceased father. Hamlet is surprised by his father's revelation that Hamlet's uncle Polonius killed his own brother for power and money. This version of the tale is far from being the first, last, best or worst. Shakespeare junkies should make their own decisions about pursuing this take, heeding advice from the man himself, 'to thine own self be true.'

Although the movies haven't lacked for Hamlets recently, Ethan Hawke and Kenneth Branagh being the latest stars to have weighed in, Mr. Scott's is something that must be seen.
