Third "Fast & Furious" Flick Gets a Title ... and a Few More Cast Members
by Scott Weinberg | September 29, 2005
Discuss Article
Just a few days ago we learned that Bow Wow and Lucas Black would be starring in "Fast and the Furious 3," and now comes word from Variety that the sequel's official title is "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," plus a lot more cast members have been announced...

The "Justin Lin-helmed production gets under way in October.

Joining Black (and Wow) in the cast is ... Brian Tee, Nikki Griffin and newcomer Nathalie Kelley.

"Tokyo" will also reunite Lin with two thesps from his 2002 indie hit "Better Luck Tomorrow," Sung Kang and Jason Tobin.

Pic is one of U's major titles for its summer 2006 skedsked, already slotted for a June 16 release.

"Tokyo Drift" will take place in the world of Japanese "drift racing." Story centers on illegal drag racer Shaun Boswell (played by Black), who flees the U.S. for Japan to avoid jail time back home."

I'm just happy Lin is doing this pile of shit rather than disgracing mankind by remaking Oldboy for Hollywood as had been rumored.

And Hollywood wonders why people don't go to movies anymore?

Here's a clue: STOP MAKING CRAP LIKE THIS.

Who cares about the cast?
The fast and the furious franchise has never depended on a great cast to bring in movie goers. It's all about the cars. They're the real stars of the show. You could have big bird in the lead role, and as long as big bird drives a 10 second car, no one will care.

First let me say that I am NOT, repeat NOT defending this movie. I'm simply going to make a point.

One thing that people seem to lose sight of is that actors don't always go for the best movies in the world. Take Sir Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Walken. All three are great actors, dependable and have been nominated and won numerous awards for their work. And this work includes a movie with a computer-generated Kangaroo, Genetically Altered sharks that could 'take-over' the ocean and any movie that calls for a sophisticated Brit.

They make these crap movies because they like to work. They enjoy what they do as an actor, and like to keep themselves busy. As with most actors. They like to keep working, no matter what. When I'm either of these three men's age, I hope to atleast have maybe a quarter of their screen credits.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Are you comparing Lil' Bow Wow to Anthony Hopkins? Are you telling us not to worry that Bow Wow would make a movie like this even though it is so far beneath himl? I know you were "just trying to make a point here", but i don't understand what your point has to do with this movie and the discussion on it so far.

LITTLE BOW WOW???? PLEASE KILL ME NOW!!!!!
This is going to be a DISASTER. LITTLE BOW WOW IS A FRICKING JOKE. And yes he is still little bow wow. Hes a skinny little tird and his girlfriend is bigger than he is. Vin Diesel made this franchise. How dare they disrespect him by making little bow wow the lead role.

Hollywood needs to wise the hell up, making bullcrap like this, theres all these Asian Horror Remakes, which only they do best, all these sequels like the Scream 4 crap and remakes of old tv shows and good trilogys like Indy 4 they take time to get off the ground, i hear theres gonna be an A-Team remake, i mean CMOOOOOOOON!!!!!!
