The man... Since the hit-and-run murder of his wife five years ago, Rennie Cray (Jim Caveziel) has crisscrossed America in his souped-up, stripped-down ’68 Plymouth Barracuda, pursuing her killer. The man he seeks in a high-speed, high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse is James Fargo (Colm Feore), a merciless, wheelchair-bound pyschopath. Through a series of mechanical innovations, Fargo has turned his rampaging ’72 Cadillac Eldorado into a monstrous extension of his own twisted body and mind. Now, their deadly battle of wits and wills is about to move into overdrive. And caught in their headlights is a tormented beauty (Rhona Mitra) who unwittingly holds the key to their ultimate showdown. Directed by Robert Harmon, who set the bar for road thrillers with 1986’s The Hitcher, from a screenplay by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell. Produced by Brad Jenkel (Threesome, Beverly Hills Ninja, Lucy Fell, Slackers), Avi Lerner (Replicant, Undisputed, Prozac Nation, Try Seventeen), Carroll Kemp (The Brave) and Michael Marcus. Executive produced by Tim Van Rellim (Ravenous, Invisible Circus, A Knight's Tale). -- © New Line Cinema [More]

Both the well-choreographed crash scenes and the gritty cinematography hint at a better film. Shame no-one took the time to make it. Full Review |

We know exactly what the filmmakers are trying to do, and with the exception of the truly awful dialog, at least they do it efficiently. Full Review |

Personagens detestáveis em um filme medíocre que ainda conta com uma conclusão moralmente desprezível. Uma experiência tão ruim quanto ser atropelado – talvez pior.

Lacks the sprawling, Westernized mythos of The Hitcher and feels, in the end, like a previously owned nightmare sorely in need of a new universal hell joint. Full Review |

Highwaymen has no interest in fleshing out its story; it's all bone, no meat, save for what ends up on the asphalt. Full Review |

Painted in shades of Mad Max, Duel, Crash and The Driver, Highwaymen is so derivative that it constantly reminds you of better films as it spits out a barrage of sound and fury. Full Review |
