He uses the rebellion as a way to steal a few moments alone with Valentina, the prettiest girl in school, and the two share a kiss. When Silvio tells of his coup to his big-mouthed best friend, word gets around to Valentina's very jealous boyfriend Martino, and Silvio finds himself in some deep trouble at school. At home Silvio must contend with his ex-revolutionary parents (Anna Galiena and Luca De Flippo), who have settled comfortably into a bourgeois existence and are painfully dismissive of the next generation's attempts at political activism. Ultimately Silvio finds an unexpected object for his affections when he discovers that he, too, has been loved from afar. This charming, lighthearted coming-of-age comedy has some decidedly prescient things to say about the role of politics for a young generation, while presenting a poignantly apt depiction of teen romance.
