Consensus: A predictable plot and cheesy special effects make Cursed a less-than-scary experience.

This time around, their sights are set on one of the horror genre's most popular subjects: werewolves. Set in an ultra-hip modern Los Angeles, the film tells the tale of siblings Ellie (Christina Ricci) and Jimmy (Jesse Eisenberg), who have yet to fully come to terms with the loss of their parents. Ellie works at "The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn" and dates ladies' man Jake (Joshua Jackson), while Jimmy is a less-than-popular high school student with a crush on the prettiest girl in school (Kristina Anapau). But one night, after Ellie and Jimmy get into a car accident on Mulholland Drive, they are bitten by what appears to be a bona fide werewolf. Soon, both brother and sister are exhibiting behavior that can only mean one thing--that they, too, have been cursed. A troubled production history notwithstanding, Craven's film remains a fast-paced, clever addition to the genre. Featuring a star-studded supporting cast (including Mya, Judy Greer, and Shannon Elizabeth), as well as an energetic modern rock soundtrack, CURSED takes viewers on a thrill-ride through the dark side of Los Angeles. Cursed is no Scream, but it is at least a healthy yelp.

If this is the way Craven is headed, we should be mourning the loss of a true talent.

Watchable horror film has good performances and several nice moments but it's let down by some dodgy CGI and a patchy script.

This film could easily be the Springtime for Hitler of horror movies.

With all the lackluster horror movies being released every weekend, you’ve got to appreciate what pros Craven and Williamson are at the genre.

A stylish and fun homage to a classic horror subgenre.

Cursed gets off on the wrong foot by failing to introduce the characters properly. This is an error from which it never recovers, despite some moments that work well.

All of this could have been loose, kitschy fun, but "Cursed" is too self-conscious to get off the ground.

Cursed feels like a series of curveballs designed to confuse the audience into thinking they're watching anything other than bad dialogue.

Cursed isn't a very good movie, but it's more an uninspired letdown than a flabbergasting turkey.

Subestima a inteligência do espectador do início ao fim e apela para todo tipo de clichê de direção para tentar provocar sustos ocasionais.

It’s telling that one of the giddiest scenes (a lycanthropy-powered wrestling match), reaches for inspiration from Teen Wolf Too.
