DON is a remake of the Amitabh Bachan cult classic, in which a double for a top-level gangster is recruited to infiltrate and ultimately bring about the downfall of an insidious criminal organization. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, who brought audiences DIL DHAHTA HAI and LAKSHYA, the new DON stars Shahrukh Khan in the crucial dual role, mixing in state-of-the-art special effects, high-tech gadgetry, and exotic scenery to create a thoroughly revamped thriller. Film fans will no doubt find the comparison between the two movies fascinating, as Akhtar's father, Javed, wrote the screenplay for the first DON. Farhan was rumored to have watched the original more than 40 times as part of his preparation for the project. [More]
