It's really a kids' movie at its heart. And if you watch it with that in mind - as a film made for the Nickelodeon crowd - you'll see that it fills out rather nicely

It's disappointing that this is the next, and most likely final step of the Ace Ventura franchise.

Ace Ventura Jr.: Pet Detective is a loathsome, exceedingly unfunny continuation of a once rewarding film series...a terrible motion picture, scraping the bottom of the barrel.
