Warners Doubles Up On Live-Action Akira
Summary
Back in October, we discussed reports that Warners had signed Ruairi Robinson to direct a live-action Akira adaptation. As it turns out, the rumor was half right. Or doubly right, depending on how you look at it. Back to Article

on Feb 22 2008 05:59 PM I never read the graphic novels, bt I'm glad that I'm not the only one that didn't like the movie that much. (Reply to this) |

on Feb 23 2008 04:17 PM This could be interesting...I watched the movie a couple of years ago, thought the animation was great. The story was okay, but I could tell it had been condensed, and I hadn't even read the original material. I can see it as a live action movie (though I'm thinking more of Shia Labeouf as Kaneda, laugh at me if you will, but I can see him more easily as an adolescent delinquent than Leo Dicaprio...) on Feb 29 2008 01:08 PM Its been almost 20 yrs since a first saw Akira. So amazed was I that I was calling everyone I knew telling them how great it was. As soon as it came out on tape I owned it and was showing it to everyone. At the time the thought of a live action version was beyond imagining. This is a dream come true. Please don't ***** this up.
