Is anyone looking forward to this? I love the Alien and Predator franchises alot, but I simply failed to be able to get through AvP and AvP2 doesn't strike my interest one bit. Sad really.

I was looking forward to the first one, even though i knew it was going to blow...and it did, obviously...But for some reason I am looking forward to this one too...I just hope they dont f it up like they did the first one. The way the first one ended, with the predator teaming up with the chick, just didnt do it for me...I was hoping for a blood bath too the end!!!

AVP should have been R-rated, with either not much plot like the predator franchise and alien 2 or a don't-know-what's-going-on plot like the alien 1 and 3! it wasn't close to any of this....AVP2 for the moment doesn't sound like it could live up to anyone's expectations!
Unless they start dropping names like james cameron, sigourney weaver, michael biehn, ahhnold and so on...but let's be realistic, it's not going to happen!

I'm still waiting for "Gremlins vs. Critters," "Tremors vs. Eight Legged Freaks," and "Mimic vs. Relic."

if somehow a WHOLE NEW TEAM is put behind the movie then maybe it has a chance.

Its all about Dough. I have chatted with Uwe and his reps a few times, and he is a very nice guy. While the movies do not do well at the box office here, they do well overseas. Bloodrayne was # 1 in Russia and played well in Europe. Plus, they tend to do well on DVD. Alone on the Dark was a #1 DVD in Germany. So when Foreign Box office and DVD sales are added in, his films all have made money so that is why he is so prolific.

but in reality...
this movie has no chance in hell. The first one was completely idiotic. There wasn't anything good in it at all.

Actually... on second though... the only way for this one to be good would be if Gov. Arnold came in during the last scene of the movie and killed all the predators. Only then would it be good. And by good, I mean giving it a 9% tomato rating. But hey, 9% is certainly better than 0%.

ALIEN VS. PREDATOR: APOCALYPTO STYLE!
I think if they kept humans out of it and set the second one in a different solar system, Alien vs. Predator would be a lot more interesting and fun. Why the need for humans anyway? Create a new world and let them go at it in an Apocalypto style movie with Mel Gibson directing. After all, Gibson can do gore with the best of them and it's not like they talk. Now that would be refreshing!

another Jason vs. Freddy would be hilarious though.

A release date? How about James Cameron, a Budget, and an "R" rating?

I'm not saying I loved AVP, but I thought it was underrated and overly bashed. It was entertaining and had some good moments, even if it was a bit on the dumb side. I will see the sequel, but not with really high expectations.

Darn Critics!
Everyone is wrong, but me.

I really liked AVP. It was a great movie. I understand why it didn't get good reviews, but at the same time it's lovable for what it is.

Unlike Alien, the Preditor movies don't re-use their characters, but I'm hoping that the girl in AVP (best remembered for her school-girl crush on the Preditor), will be in this next one. I only say that because I liked her character. But I think I would probably enjoy a different setting than seeing the first AVP all over again.

I think AVP2 should take place on the Preditors' home world. It would be fun to see their planet get invaded by Aliens.

Has anyone read the graphic novel Alien Vs. Predator: Prey? They also made it a novel. That is the story they should have done, and should do now.

Alien (Rated R)
Aliens (Rated R)
Alien 3 (Rated R)
Alien Resurrection (Rated R)
Predator (Rated R)
Predator 2 (Rated R)
Alien Vs. Predator (Rated PG-13)

Hmmmm, one of these ain't like the others.

I also found AVP a fun little lark. Not award winning, but entertaining for what it was. I'll have no problem checking out 2 on DVD.

"How about James Cameron, a Budget, and an "R" rating?"

Thanks. That made my day. I need to rent Aliens again. Or just buy the damn DVD.

Anyway, I'm one who thinks AvP isn't that bad of a movie if you consider the genre it belongs to, NOT the series each baddie belongs to. Comparing it with all (yes, ALL) of the Alien and Predator series is like comparing a Ford Pinto to a Maserati or something. Maybe I'll see the next one when it hits the dollar movies.

Finally, I hope Sigourney Weaver still has no interest to be in the series.
