Will Arnett: The Next Will Ferrell
by Scott Weinberg | November 14, 2005
Discuss Article
If there's one upstart funnyman who's busier than Steve Carell these days, it'd have to be Mr. Will Arnett. Best known for his painfully hilarious work in Fox's "Arrested Development," Arnett's been signed to at least five movies over the past several months, and know he's got a starring role in New Line's "Jeff the Demon."

According to Variety, ""Jeff the Demon" centers on a pair of high school losers who find a book that allows them to summon a power from the netherworld. The demon, Jeff, helps them win every battle and right every wrong in their lives, but they quickly find that further problems ensue.

"Jeff the Demon" marks the second recent New Line comedy deal for Arnett, who's signed to star in "We're the Millers."

Arnett's completed work in Sony's "RV" alongside Robin Williams and Carsey-Werner's "You Are Going to Prison." He's attached to "Dad Can't Lose" and "Get 'Em Wet" for Paramount and "Most Likely to Succeed" for Universal."

Enough is enough, I hate it when the same actor is in every damn movie, It's called overkill. Plus I don't really care for Arnett, he's no Jim Carrey that's for sure.

Arnett is rather.. well... I'm not exactly sure what he is. He's not humorous for one thing. Arrested Development is a sign that FOX is starting to slide down a deep hill. Bringing Family Guy to FOX was a mistake as well. The re-runs of the older shows, that are actually funny, are really what make FOX... FOX. Well, goodbye FOX, hello... whatever channel gets more shows with actual comedy such as CBS with Two and a Half Men. Great humor, great ratings. Hell, it's got Sheen. What more could you ask for?

Gotta be weird for Arnett, considering he started as a dramatic actor.

Two and a half men is funny?
It's mediocre at best. King of Queens, Joey, According to Jim are also not deserving of airtime. I think we've evolved to a point we don't need a laughtrack to let us know when something is funny. My Name is Earl and Arrested Development are two of the funniest shows on basic. Arrested Development should get picked up by Showtime or HBO once it's final episode airs a couple months from now. The current season has been dumbed down for a more mainstream audience and it shows, but is still funnier than anything else.

If I were Arnett, I wouldn't want to be Ferrrell. Ferrell is terrible, but Arnett is great.

Honestly...
Arrested Development was (is) the best show on tv, and Arnett is funny... but so is David Cross... anyway, the Office starring Steve Carrell is a close second to Arrested... Whatever though... Fox needed to keep A.D. on a bit longer.
