It also inspired the 1998 Hollywood film THE AVENGERS starring Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman. The original duo of anthropologist, marksman, and judo expert Cathy Gale (Honor Blackman) and undercover operative/man-about-town John Steed (Patrick Macnee) is on the case in six complete episodes from the '63 season. Episodes include: "Intercrime" - A bungled jewel heist leaves a robber in Steed's possession, leading Cathy to sneak around undercover in an attempt to infiltrate a sinister crime syndicate. "Immortal Clay" - Disguised as connoisseurs of pottery, Clay and Steed investigate the unusual death of a spy. The secret formula for constructing unbreakable porcelain appears to be at stake, leading to a highly inventive plot which is packed full of intrigue. "Box of Tricks" - When a magician's assistant winds up dead after a routine disappearing trick, Steed and Cathy have to work their own magic to solve the crime.
