Consensus: Not quite as good as the original and has some dark subject material that might not be appropriate for children.

Synopsis: This sequel to the critically acclaimed original picture died at the box office, but don't let that scare you. This was one of 1998's most charming, entertaining works. Great fun that the whole family can enjoy. This sequel to the critically acclaimed original picture died at the box office, but don't let that scare you. This is the stuff of Dickens, told on the scale of Blade Runner and Brazil, with the madcap spirit of The Great Muppet Caper.

An amazing accomplishment. George Miller brings the same approach to this sequel as he did with the Mad Max trilogy: Don't re-make, re-invent. A work of genius.

Despite its G-rating, the movie includes numerous scenes of animals in peril, including a pit bull that nearly hangs himself, a crippled dog that gets thrown into a wall and a goldfish that almost suffocates... Happy holidays, kids!

Babe needed a sequel as much as Citizen Kane or Casablanca.
