on Sep 23 2009 02:22 AM As you say in your review, the two movies have little in common, save for the lead character's nefarious habits. That's because this isn't a remake, as Herzog emphatically mentioned twice in his pre-screening and post-screening comments at Toronto. It's an original film; comparisons to the Abel Ferrara-Harvey Keitel film are inevitable, I suppose, but ultimately pointless. (Reply to this) |
