Steele, an overly proud dog who is admired by the other canines in Nome, delights in making fun of Balto, who is half dog and half wolf. Meanwhile, Balto has fallen in love with Jenna, a beautiful Husky, and he attempts to win her over by proving his bravery. The perfect opportunity arises when he sets out to find a rescue team that disappeared while trying to deliver an antitoxin to the young victims of a diphtheria epidemic.
