Consensus: Hawn and Sarandon are terrific together, but the hoary plot is predictable and contrived.

Runtime: 1 hr 38 mins

Genre: Comedies

Synopsis: Suzette (Goldie Hawn) and Vinnie (Susan Sarandon) were groupies in their heyday, partying with the likes of Frank Zappa (who dubs them the Banger Sisters), Jim Morrison, and virtually every other... Suzette (Goldie Hawn) and Vinnie (Susan Sarandon) were groupies in their heyday, partying with the likes of Frank Zappa (who dubs them the Banger Sisters), Jim Morrison, and virtually every other rock star and roadie that passed through Los Angeles. Twenty years later, Suzette is a bartender who finds herself too old to stay in the Los Angeles rock scene. Distraught, she heads to Phoenix in search of her former best friend, picking up neurotic and quirky Harry (Geoffrey Rush) at a gas station along the way. But when Suzette arrives in Phoenix, she is surprised to find that her once wild friend may as well be a different person. Married to a lawyer with political aspirations and the mother of two teenage daughters, Vinnie is now LaVinia, a refined, cultured pillar of the community. With Suzette back in town, LaVinia is confronted with her past and finds that she must make peace with it to fully embrace her true self. Hawn and Sarandon are well cast, and Rush is a scene-stealer as a wounded man who finds new inspiration in Suzette. Writer Bob Dolman makes his directorial debut with THE BANGER SISTERS. [More]

Three Oscar winners and roughly the same amount of decent lines between them.

Hawn never stops surprising me at how truly talented she is...she's just a good actor, with an uncanny ability to own the words her character speaks.

'Ejemplo de una cinta en que no importa el talento de su reparto o lo interesante que pudo haber resultado su premisa, pues el resultado es francamente aburrido y, por momentos, deplorable.'

...Hawn is undoubtedly bubbly and effervescent, and she pretty much carries this trifle, but her woman-child act is growing thin, even when she's apparently spoofing it.

Diversión que no pretende innovar o dar respuestas, una de esas cintas que puede verse sin mayores culpas en la sala de cine. Goldie Hawn vale por completo cualquier precio que pueda pagarse por la entrada...

The Banger Sisters sucks. Or does it blow? No matter. Don’t waste your money.

I felt sorry for the deceased Jim Morrison, an authentic icon of the hippie era, whose name is used in vain here.

Not the greatest film, but nice to watch the clash between arrested development and nouveau establishment be smoothed out by something as great as love.

Talk about getting bangs for your buck! The Banger Sisters is a wonderfully observed, freshly inventive human drama told as a grown up comedy with some uproarious moments and outstanding performances.

Director Bob Dolman was at least smart enough to cast two actresses capable of finding the note of truth in this story and playing it beautifully.
