Looks like production on the "Basic Instinct" sequel will likely move forward. According to The Hollywood Reporter, British actor David Morrissey has signed on to star opposite Sharon Stone in "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction." The movie will take place in London where Stone's character finds herself in trouble with the law there. Morrissey will play a psychiatrist who is assigned to her case. Principal photography will begin in March.

They waited way too long
This is one of those case where they waited way too many years to do a sequel.

I'd go and see it. I loved Basic Instinct and I'm glad a sequel is happening. I think it could do 40-60 Million at the Box Office. Stone can still be sexy if she wants to be, and I just hope the guy is hot too. Accents are sexy and he'll likely have one so that's a plus. I wonder if she'll have a girlfriend this time around too.

Lets hope the screen-writters know what the audience really wants and makes it an hour and a half of nothing but lesbian sex.

Bah, seriously..first one was over-rated.

Michael Douglas
How will they explain what happened to him at the end of the 1st, most people speculate she kills him with the ice pick, wonder if there will be a mention of his character?

I guess they couldn't get Shannon Tweed and Jeff Fahey.

Actually, Catwoman tanked. It made about $40M, but has budget of $75M. Her biggest "hit" since Basic Instinct was actually The Specialist with Stallone which made about $60M domestically and about $120M overseas (not counting her voice work in Antz).

sharon stone sued sony
for a 100 million dollars...so i guess, making a movie with 40million is a better loss :)

eh... ah... it will have totally gratuitous nudity, like in the first one, right? Well, as long as we have THAT, I give the green light (as if anyone's waiting for that...).
