This is ridiculous. It's not going to get shown in Canada and to see the finally of BSG i'm going to have to rent it? Do they just want me to stop watching there show? I refuse to see it until I can get it for free on TV or the internet.
And besides the first few episodes of last season the season itself bleeeeeew.

I'm sure this has been said before, and I'm it's always lead to a flame war... but Battlestar Gallactica is an over-rated over-hyped piece of crap. Honestly... FireFly get's cancled and everyone thinks this mess is the greatest sci-fi ever made.
I actually liked it for the first season or so, but then I realized it was another over-the-top melodrama that wasn't going anywhere, ala Lost, Nip-Tuck, and all those other crap shows that huge right now, but will be laughed about in 10 years. I like to refer to these shows as "Action-Soaps" because that's basically what they are, soap operas with action.

I got news for you folks: The cylons don't have a plan. The network has a plan, and there plan is to keep pulling needlessly sexually charged pointless melodramtic crap out of their asses for as long you'll keep licking it up.

Oh, come on people!! BSG is undoubtedly the best show on TV, and continues to get better! Besides, we'll still see the season premiere on TV, they're just releasing it in theaters and on DVD for promotional purposes. So you can all relax now.

Spikes, that is practically what I was thinking. However, I still do watch BSG as it is entertaining- just not flat-out amazing as so many ppl think. It lacks subtlety when they are trying to be groundbreaking by bringing in current political problems (such as terrorism) into the storyline.

So... exactly like Twin Peaks... X-Files... and Lost in 2010 (yes I can see into the future, I rule!) we're going to get a wishy-washy sort of not really resolution that still leaves enough to question that could concievably at some point bring the series back if all the fans who eventually got fed up magically start caring again.

Yeah... not falling for that again. Fool me once and all that.

I mean, am I the only one that noticed that a whole hell of a lot of absolutely NOTHING happened in the third season? I mean seriously, let's take the president for instance:

She's dying of cancer. She's absolutely dying of cancer. She's magically cured of cancer. She's not dying of cancer. The cancer comes back. She's dying of cancer.= ZERO plot advancement, as the plot is in EXACTLY the same place at the end of the season it was in the beggining.

Also, this is one of those shows that kills a main character every week... but never permanently, which is annoying because basically their trying to hammer in a bunch of dramatic tension without burning any bridges plot whise... how come everyone hated it when X-Men 3 did that but it's ok when Battlestar Gallactica does it every damned week?

My theatre is fortunate enough to show it. I am out in New York City so hopefully the crowds won't be too bad but when we do regular free movie screenings it can kind of hectic especially since a lot of the people watching the movie just go because it is free.

I bought Seasons 1 and 2 and enjoyed them. I only watched the exodus episodes from Season 3 but eagerly waited to buy it. I purchased it 3 weeks ago and returned it 2 weeks and 6 days ago, getting a full refund. I was so disappointed. I appreciate BSG wants to be a drama but other than the first few episodes I was bored out my brains. The finale of Season 3 was so disappointing, it really put me off watching anymore.

I'm sorry to critise the series but I had high hopes for BSG. I agree with Spike, this season was a melodrama in space. I don't expect battles every week but, come on, its a space sci-fi. At least Babylon 5 delivered on its story arcs and had some decent Space Battles, its characters were also more complex and interesting. I just feel that with BSG the story isn't really interesting me anymore. Do I care if they get to Earth..yawn?

Maybe Razor will be good....who knows?

Im sorry, but a lot of u ppl seem to think that BSG has bad character development, story arcs, and the general makeup of a good show. I'd like 2 clarify that. It is one of the most amazing shows ever to grace televison. To all of u Firefly fans out there: That was 1 kick-*** show. I love it and shocked that they cancelled it. But come on. It's not like Firefly was perfect. I admit that the 3rd season wasn't as good as the first 2, but at least it fairly enjoyable (despite the episode where Chief got trapped in that airlock thing). I'm excited for this next season, and I think that people need 2 broaden their horizens a little.

My arguement against Battlestar Gallactica is very simple:
The mulliganed the entire 3rd season.... you know... like that other crappy soap opera Dallas.

Honestly loved the show for the first two seasons. The third season wasn't just bad, it reeked of the stuido jerking off the fans while not having any clue what the hell they where doing. Honestly, it's oly because I enjoyed the show so much in the beginning that I so passionately hate it now.

In the third season, the show literally devolved into a parody of itself, where every episode was about someone dying and or sleeping someone only to have the plot line go absolutely nowhere, because noone ever really died and the crappy romance stories just went around in circles.

I mean come on... in one season: Starbuck had a daughter ZOMG DRAMAZ!!!! But not really... The Starbuck was DEAD!!! ZOMG SHE DIED!!!! But not really... And the president was dying!!! But not really... because she's not dying!!!! but not really... because she's dying!!! Maybe really... maybe not... I give up screw it.

And see, that's just my point... that was the ENTIRE third season. A bunch of huge ZOMG PLOTZ DEVELOPMENTZ followed promptly by said plot developments being taken back, I.E. Sci-Fi attempting to deliver on their promise of HUGE DRAMAZ!!! while not taking any risks or as I said before, "burning any bridges plot wise."

See, dramatic tension requires consequences. Without consequences there's no tension. That's why X-Men 3 sucked. If Proffesor X didn't really die, it doesn't matter that he died. It doesn't matter that a bunch of important character lost their powers if they didn't really lose their powers. It doesn't matter that Jean Grey died... again. Also, ZOMG THEY KILT CYCLOPZ!!! Off screen... no bridge-burning here!

I mean honestly, they spent the entire third season developing the plot all the way to exactly the same place they ended the second season. And then closed with a promise of maybe thinking about going somewhere with this mess when the next season starts in two years. Translation, "Your all morons and we hate you, but thanks for making us rich!"

I, on the other hand, consistently find it to be the some of the most engaging television on the air today. I think the last season ended with some extremely compelling questions, not the least of which being, "What does it mean to be human?" And I can't wait for the next season.

Best comments of the thread Fury. I agree that BSG has been entertaining to a point. That point being the 2nd last episode of season 2. But it is not even in the class of Babylon 5. When you have a continuous 110 episode story with all but a few episodes contributing something to the overall epic you end up with the best series ever on TV. Not like most of the TV today when anything happening in one episode has little to do with the next.
While BSG does have an overall storyline you could get rid of at least 1/2 the episodes and not lose anything significant.
I also agree with others that say "The title is misleading". It should be "Come see some BSG TV on the big screen"

Just my 2 cents worth. (1.95 US cents these days LOL)

I think the first five episodes of Season 3 (New Caprica plus Collaborators) were absolutely brilliant. The rest of the season was uneven. The soap opera crap was too much, but there was still some sophisticated political commmentary. I have faith that they'll get it together in season 4 and take it home. As far as Firefly goes, I've started renting it, and after one disc, I'm not sure what all the hype is about. It's reasonably enjoyable, but it doesn't have nearly the political savvy that BSG has shown, at least in that first disc. I'll stick with the series since there's so few to watch. :)

TBH I thought the original was better or I enjoyed it more. The new version of BG moved along too slowly for me with too many sub-plots that for me did not add to the central story, in fact they detracted from it. Also the way they portrayed Baltar and Number 6 was irritating I thought. Even for free I would'nt bother.
