MMacKK writes: on Feb 21 2008 04:59 PM I'm surprisedabout Be Kind. Thought that would be a little bit higher. And who gives a **** about Larry. My guess is he won't last longer than 5 years. (Reply to this) |

The_Duckling writes: on Feb 21 2008 06:58 PM 5% for the Cable Guy (not the Jim Carrey version), and Cellular and The Sentinel weren't terrible, they just weren't...well...good. But I'll see Be Kind Rewind cuz it looks less like an Adam Sandler movie and more like a good movie. Also, a pulse-pounding escapist thriller doesn't need to make sense, just as long as you try not to pay attention to the plot. That's why I wasn't sorry I saw Jumper. And that's also why I'm seeing Vantage Point (Reply to this) |

Blank Frank writes: on Feb 21 2008 07:38 PM 6% for Witless. I'm sure there'll be at least two critics who still lap up his (Reply to this) |

Dijjot writes: on Feb 21 2008 08:11 PM Have to say be kind rewind bordered on tacky, cliche for a stretch. Saw it higher than the fifties, though. Didnt see that coming. As for larry the cable guy, I give it 14. because I'm optimistic in others begrudgingly fresh idiocy. Or does that make me a pessimist? (Reply to this) |

man in the water writes: on Feb 21 2008 08:47 PM 0% for Larry. The title is perfect the movie looks witless (Reply to this) |

ossimer writes: on Feb 22 2008 03:06 AM I bet Witless gets 3%, because there's always some idiot that gives these movies good reviews (see:Meet The Spartans) (Reply to this) |
|
kdbarrett writes: on Feb 22 2008 04:42 AM I'm giving Larry 4%. The shot in the trailer of him in a towel were bad enough. Now there's one that has him with just a hat. How is this movie not considered obscene? (Reply to this) |
|
Gimy writes: on Feb 22 2008 05:37 AM "on par with cellular"...hahaaaaaaa...i LOVE jason stathom but good lord that movie was absolute garbage. Basinger should have imagined those guys were alec baldwin and maybe she'd have acted better in it. she was horrible. maybe the dude meant "phone booth" and not cellular...which was 100 times better. i loved Eternal Sunshine but Be Kind Rewind looks bad from the trailers, and it looks like one of those that starts off decent...goes SO slow that it gets worse and worse and by the time you're done you wish you could call Doc Brown and go back in time. amazing idea that based on the trailer looks executed very very poorly. not sure if i'm gonna catch it this weekend or not now... (Reply to this) |

John Z. Delorean writes: on Feb 22 2008 05:49 AM I give witless protection the 2%. Dude is right tho, I believe vantage point will be on par with cellular and the sentinel which means it'll suck hog balls. I was hoping Be kind rewind would be decent but I admit the trailer was never doing it for me so I'll be kind and fast forward thru this one. (Reply to this) |

GreenFinch writes: on Feb 22 2008 08:08 AM I love those captions. Crossfire made me laugh pretty hard. I haven't seen The Signal, but it sounds to me like a pretty blatant ripoff of Stephen King's novel, Cell. Anyone else read it? As for Witless...if there is any justice in the world, or any sense in the realm of the critics, or any taste among moviegoers, it will tank, and hard. But since not everyone has both sense and taste, I'll guess 3%. (Reply to this) |
|
AntonChigurh writes: on Feb 22 2008 08:13 AM I'll see there will be blood again. All the movies that come out this week look like pure unadulterd ****. That photo of larry the cable guy is going to disturb me for years to come. (Reply to this) |

pota1974 writes: on Feb 22 2008 08:18 AM I will not be seeing any movies at the theatre this weekend. To all you Witless bashers, just remember this, dumb people need movies to! (Reply to this) |

kubla writes: on Feb 22 2008 09:06 AM Witless Protection: 0% The tagline for the movie (saw it on a poster with Larry standing next to an attractive girl): "Protecting Amnerica's Assets". Nice. Wow, I really could've gone my whole life without seeing Larry the Cable Guy naked. I think I went blind for about 5 seconds. Oh, and anyone think it's ironic that the Tomatometer is 24% since it just looks like one long episode of 24? (I'm sure the meter won't stay there tho....) (Reply to this) |

Ecs5001 writes: on Feb 22 2008 09:40 AM I say 1% for Larry, Vantage, Charlie, and Be kind i would like to see (Reply to this) |

Ashron writes: on Feb 22 2008 10:40 AM In reply to this comment (#1593236) I don't quite remember when Cell came out, but I know The Signal played at last year's Sundance Festival, because I couldn't get tickets, but that means they were working on it before the book came out, so it's probably just one of those coincidences of similar plots. (Reply to this) |

Bloody Mathias writes: on Feb 22 2008 11:13 AM Larry's got the sterotypical body of the lazy, inbred, wife beating, trailer hopping, pickup driving, duck hunting, nascar lovin', 2 digit IQ, southern hick/redneck white trash. God i hope his flick crashes and burns like Delta Force did last year. Nice to see Be Kind, Rewind's meter jump up and comback into the fresh zone. (Reply to this) |
