...utterly idiosyncratic, in the best sense of the word. ... Very trippy and sometimes strangely disturbing, this is a quintessential midnight movie.

Reviews for Blood Tea and Red String
So achingly lovely, so immersive in a genuine childhood world, that it's hard to image a viewer walking away unmoved.
Thirteen years in the making, Christiane Cegavskes stop-motion fairy tale is at once wondrously obsolete and perfectly au courant.
A stunning achievement that will appeal to anyone in search of a bold and captivating movie.
Cegavske imbues her scrappy little creatures with disturbingly complex personalities.
Cegavske’s film is a meld of surreal imagery, and a morbid somewhat horrific story that art lovers will enjoy. Horror fans need apply.
It is the oddest film I've seen all year, and certainly earns big points for originality.
As with Henry Darger, coherence is beside the point; one just waits for the next baffling image.
