First Trailer for "The Bourne Ultimatum" Online
by Scott Weinberg | April 20, 2007
Discuss Article
In 2002, "The Bourne Identity" grossed about $213 million worldwide. In 2004, "The Bourne Supremacy" hit $288 million. More importantly ... they're both damn good spy thrillers. The third chapter, "The Bourne Ultimatum," hits theaters later this summer, but the first trailer just arrived.

Returning for second stint behind the helm is director Paul Greengrass. (The first chapter was directed by Doug Liman.) Also back on board are Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, and Joan Allen. Screenwriters such as Tony Gilroy, Paul Attanasio, and Tom Stoppard have worked on the adaptation, and that's a pretty impressive trio right there.

The plot has to do with ... I have no idea, frankly, and the less I know about the movie going in, the better. That's why I liked this new trailer: it uses our knowledge of the previous flicks to get us interested -- instead of doling out a lot of plot-heavy spoilers. (I'm sure the next trailer will be a lot different.) "The Bourne Ultimatum" opens on August 3rd.

awesome! i can't wait! Damon is the perfect Bourne. And besides, Bourne is such a cool last name... probably cause it's spelled with a U and an E. Jason Born = not cool. David Webb = also not cool.

You know as much as I disliked the camera work in the second one, it looks as if the directors has pulled it back a bit. The fight scenes looked more like the first one, fully body long shots, so you can see whats going on. In the second it was like two hours of asses and elbows.

My hopes have been raised.

"Y'know, I always thought that Matt Damon was like a Streisand, but he's rocking the shit in this one!"

I've always liked Damon as an actor. Can't wait for the final chapter.

I cannot wait! If word of mouth hadn't already pumped me up enough, I saw the trailer and visited the website, now August 3rd seems much too far.
