Yah. Big fans, so you get McG instead of Cameron or someone near Cameron's skill. Maybe it can be like Charlie's Angels.

When I saw Charlie's Angels I was like, whoa! This reminds me so much of the Terminator franchise!

And you make it a point that it'll be PG-13.

Liars. . .

I guess even fans need to make money.
I would hope most would agree that the ratings system has become something of a joke anyway.

The 'Strause Brothers' were big fans of 'Alien' and 'Predator' films, then gave us AvP2... oh dear.
Also, the 'Terminator' films were 'Arnold' films and wont work without him (arguably didn't work WITH him in T3), so why use the name at all? Call it 'Killer Androids' or something and be a new thing! (It IS allowed to make a Sci-Fi film and NOT call it 'Terminator', if they are thinking of the brand recognition then they are not thinking of how judgemental and vitriolic fans are about piss- poor, 'just for the money' sequels... No-one had heard of the 'Matrix' before it came out).

I still have a little hope, yes PG-13 rating bothers me but with a great story it wont bother me too much (and if they release an UNRATED version on DVD0. Maybe McG will have a turn around, I hated the C.Angels movies as much as everyone else, but I actually liked We Are Marshall. Plus Len Weisman sucked with the Underworld flicks then he made a turn around with Die Hard 4 (unrated version way better). Plus Paul Haggis polished the script and hes a great writer, Bale signed on for 3, and Cameron recomend that Sam Worthington guy, so I think it has some hope to be good.

I have confidence in this movie, Christian Bale chooses his parts very wisely it would seem, and his appearance has me hoping for the best.

Im with tyrant on this one. Bale signing on for these films boosted my confidence in this franchises history. Lets just hope it wont interfere with the sequel to The Dark Knight!! LOL

Pointless money-making exercise that is trying to squeeze the last greenbacks out of an already empty creative bank.
What is wrong with people taking a risk on fresh sci-fi ideas???
And don't even get me started on McG?!!!!
Anyone who goes by such an idiotic moniker should not be let near a movie production.
The inventive bankruptcy in the movie industry is incredibly depressing.

instead of rolling the dice a little and picking a smart, perhaps unconventional director (which did wonders for 'iron man'), the suits went with a sort of stock director. not horrible, just underwhelming, and that's a shame.

basically, hollywood decided to play it safe, and that will translate to a film that is literally not allowed to take risks either. i doubt McG will even be noticeably bad as a director, the movie will probably just be so-so with some cool set pieces and hammed-up acting. however, a mediocre movie is hardly justification for dusting of this franchise (again) and going through the motions.

the sad thing is that the script is probly solid. but i'm keeping my expectations nice and low. if it's bad-to-decent i can say i told ya so and if it's good i'll be pleasantly surprised. i can handle that.

that was almost eerie, how much I agree with your post. Low expectations have saved *many* a movie for me...
