In the email is a challenge to play a game of poker over the internet...and if Det. Mari loses, an innocent woman will be murdered right there on screen. A demented serial killer begins to challenge the police with this game again and again, and Mari launches into an intense investigation to find the maniac. But meanwhile, the police must enlist the help of a teenage boy, who is also a poker genius, to hold off the killer. An okay story, a tepid and convoluted plot, no logic and silly dialogue.

Watching the online cards turn slowly (sometimes painfully so) in the film is to be reminded of how good Argento used to be when his aesthetic approach was less synthetic.
