Chodolenko's previous films have all focused on female protagonists facing a crossroads in their lives. The women in her films often find themselves sucked into foreign environments that force them to question their place in the world. Kyra Sedgwick gives a moving performance as Delia Byrd, an abused mother turned rock-star forced to return home years after abandoning her two oldest children. Bringing her teenage daughter along for the ride, Delia must confront her own demons as well as her abusive ex-husband (Aidan Quinn) in an attempt to reconnect with her older children, and her past.
