The means? Yes, the very same weapon, which must in fact stay at a temperature 50 degrees or colder or it will detonate. Enter an ice cream truck driver (Gooding) and a drifter (Ulrich), who with the help of the scientist (Paymer) who designed the weapon, are determined to keep it cold and out of the wrong hands. Reviews for Chill Factor
Barely thought-out jumble of Hollywood conventions dashed together in the pursuit of the almighty quick buck.
There’s one standout action scene, but the other parts perfunctorily connect the dots.
Fairly standard save - the - world stuff, with a parade of implausibilities.
The plot is rigged to disintegrate if a moviegoer's IQ nudges above 70.
The film is never involving, most of the characters are flat and too much of the plot is recycled from other similarly based films to make it worth seeing.
This film is seasoned in cliches, with plenty of badly written dialogue, over the top acting from Cuba Gooding Jr., zero chemistry between the two leads, and horribly tacky bad guys, tossed in to complete an overall bad movie recipe.
Chill Factor is a tepid thriller that got lost on the way to the video store, and ended up on megaplex screens.
